I'm Not A Stripper...Sort Of

Chris and Lili discuss the differences between strippers in strip clubs and burlesque dancers.

Lili posted an article to the Miss Exotic World Yahoo Group. The title was "Burlesque is not Stripping" This brought up the controversial question that can raise an eyebrow and blood pressure.

You can read the article here:

So...what is burlesque? What is a stripper? What is the difference?

But the real question (to me) is how do you describe the difference without offending people? Should you even have to worry about that? Does different mean bad?

It's not easy to define burlesque, it varies city to city. Even strip clubs vary across the country. Bring in the local laws and the type of club it's in and things change too. When you look at the International scene and the cultural difference in other countries...you head will hurt trying to define it.

And don't forget...when an article is written, we don't have a say in how it's written and edited. And words read online have no subtext. Was there a laugh the person's voice when they said it sarcastically? Was it tounge and cheek? Was it said with malice? Or was it just one person's opinion on how they see the scene? No judgement at all.

Well, we talk and you can listen...enjoy!
